WHAT WE BELIEVE
You can BELONG Before you BELIEVE.
HUMANITY
Humanity is made in the image of God. Although God designed us to have fellowship with Him, we became alienated from God through choices of man kinds free will. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin. Since God is holy, perfect, and without sin, relationship with Him is impossible through man’s own own efforts.
ETERNITY
You were created to exist forever. We believe forever is spent in one of two places: eternally separated from God because of sin or in union with God because of His forgiveness and salvation. Hell is separation from God. To be in heaven is to be present with God eternally.
SALVATION
Salvation is God’s free gift to you if you accept it. This gift was given to everyone through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We can never make up for our sin with self-improvement or good works. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness that you can be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment you receive Jesus Christ into your life by faith.
ETERNAL SECURITY
Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by faith in the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and eternal power of God that gives this security.
WATER BAPTISM
The Scripture teaches that all who repent and believe in Christ are to be baptized by immersion (Matthew 28:19). Baptism is a public profession of faith in Christ. It is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is a declaration to the world that we have died to sin and have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4). We baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and by full immersion.
COMMUNION
The Lord’s table consists of two elements: the bread and cup. Those elements are symbolic of the body and blood of Christ. Communion is a memorial of Christ’s sufferings on the cross and a celebration of our salvation. It is an opportunity for a believer to experience forgiveness and the healing power of Jesus Christ.
